Final Project and Essay
The last part of the semester you will be preparing and presenting your final project on a technology related topic of your choice. You may not repeat the topic you did for your previous essay.
For your final project you will research a technology issue that you are interested in knowing more about. You must have a writing and a presentation part of the project. The writing will be done on YOUR own, but the presentation can be combined with other students (no more than three students per project).
Think of Habits of the Mind list and which ones you would really like to employ. Look back through the many essays we’ve read for class to get ideas on how you might approach this essay topic.
Writing Component
- Must be at least 1500 words (6 pages)
- Must have a significant critical thinking component
- Must have a creative thinking component
- Must address a complex issue related to technology
- Must use at least 5 sources with at least 8 citations (not quotations).
Presentation
- Must be interactive. You must engage the class
- Should be at least 20 minutes. No more than 30 minutes total.
- Should help the class to learn something
- Should have a critical thinking component
- Should incorporate ideas from your research on your writing project
- Should NOT repeat your written component
